Why doesn't Photoshop have a .rgb importer when others such as The GIMP do?

.rgb is one of the main SGI image formats and should be there. Photoshop has importers for numerous obscure file formats I've never heard of - I mean what on earth is Cineon?!

GIMP is an open source program, while Photoshop is not.
