Assuming you have a digital photo to use for your silhouette, open the photo. It will open in a "background" layer. Create another layer over that. (Click on the little paper icon on the layers pallet, lower right corner) You will still see the photo below the new layer. On the NEW layer, use the lasso tool to carefully outline the subject you wish to silhouette. Once you have closed the selection, fill it with black. Delete the background layer below. Done.
